Hau Therm,

My friend I almost fell out of the chair laughing when I saw this too. It was too good to keep to myself and had to share. But it is something I have spoken about on this forum. Perhaps the youth will actually make it happen. Mitakuye oyasin, mitakuye oyasin.

hau lostspirit i understand your point however there is always a place where our paths are going to go two different directions when it comes to these things what you fight for is what we fight against which is the very existence of your government and civilization on our lands and it is difficult to know the thoughts and minds of another if you are not from that culture so there is a point when being a human being is superseded by the very blood that flows through you. Of my 6 sisters and two brothers who were taken by the state of south dakota and adopted it only remains for me to find two of my mother's children who would both be in their sixties by now. the others have returned one by one despite the programming they received in their american foster homes and american society and it was difficult to send a younger brother on his journey in his place on the earth the Creator sent me another younger brother who i love even though i have never met him face to face and was quick to grasp the desperateness of the situation and has also given his word to stand when the time comes. The story that i tell is of one family among the nation yet that story everyone who is from the Seven Council Fires knows because in some way shape or form every last one of us have all been subjected to an american holocaust designed to wipe our lifeways and worldviews from the face of the planet. These are the very same thoughts that sustained more than 100 million people in this hemisphere before the arrival of the euroameripeon boat people and all their imported "labor" to build their "western civilization" on these shores.

"A few did, in good faith, accept the white man's God. The black-robed
preacher was like the Indian himself in seeking no soft things, and as
he followed the fortunes of the tribes in the wilderness, the tribesmen
learned to trust and to love him. Then came other missionaries who had
houses to sleep in, and gardens planted, and who hesitated to sleep in
the Indian's wigwam or eat of his wild meat, but for the most part held
themselves aloof and urged their own dress and ways upon their converts.
These, too, had their following in due time. But in the main it is true
that while the Indian eagerly sought guns and gunpowder, knives and
whiskey, a few articles of dress, and, later, horses, he did not of
himself desire the white man's food, his houses, his books, his
government, or his religion.

The two great "civilizers," after all, were whiskey and gunpowder, and
from the hour the red man accepted these he had in reality sold his
birthright, and all unconsciously consented to his own ruin. Immediately
his manhood began to crumble. A few chiefs undertook to copy some of the
European ways, on the strength of treaty recognition. The medals and
parchments received at such times were handed down from father to son,
and the sons often disputed as to who should succeed the father,
ignoring the rule of seniority and refusing to submit to the election of
the council. There were instances during the nineteenth century in the
vicinity of Chicago, Prairie du Chien, Saint Paul, and Kansas City,
where several brothers quarrelled and were in turn murdered in drunken
rows. There was also trouble when the United States undertook to appoint
a head chief without the consent of the tribe. Chief Hole-in-the-Day of
the Ojibways and Spotted Tail of the Brule Sioux were both killed by
tribesmen for breaking the rule of their respective tribes and accepting
favors from the Government."

"I will kill the first chief who speaks for selling the Black Hills!" shouted Little Big Man. He delivered the words of Crazy Horse, "One does not sell the land the people walk on."

Hau ghostwarrior, I understand and respect your view. However, this is what I fight for now:

"Some day the earth will weep, she will beg for her life, she will cry with tears of blood. You will make a choice, if you will help her or let her die, and when she dies, you too will die.”

John Hollow Horn, Oglala Lakota

Not for myself, my relations, the government nor our civilization but the Mother Earth itself. Creator put you and yours' here on this land. Greed put mine here. And greed will be our undoing. So be it. After seeing the "tears of blood" in the Gulf oil spill that has been my choice and duty. But along the way I am trying to be a bit more human and less wasicu. That is all I can do......except shoot myself:

WE THE PEOPLE…
©2009

We are Dakotah…

We will not be exterminated…
I hear the heartbeats of my Ancestors
in the heartbeats of my Children.

We will not be assimilated…
I see the faces of my Grandmothers and Grandfathers
in the faces of my Sons and Daughters.

We will not be defeated…
I see the courage of Dakotah Warriors
in the eyes of my Children.

We will not surrender…
Our Dakotah Way of Life
for a greedy and materialistic existence.

We will not be overrun…
We are Children of the Sun
and have faced the US Government’s Guns.

We will not be converted to perverted false religions…
I see the generosity and kindness of Wakan Tanka
in the deepest reaches of my Children’s Hearts.

We are Dakotah…
and
We will never forget…
That we are One of the First People
of this Land.
