Yeah,I don't remember voting on that law to detain us without cause or warrant. The only presidential candidate that voted against it was Ron Paul.So now I'm a non-Indian who really is an Indian who has never lived on a reservation but now lives on the reservation called America.Don't that beat all?Jennifer

I think the time is fast coming that the reservations will have more freedoms than the rest of the country. The grinding wheel of Government oppression worked slowly for a long time cracking and crushing the seeds of freedom, over the over the last 30 years the wheel was sped up, over the last 10 years it was shifted into over drive. I dread to see what the next 10 years will bring.

Let's all pile into Pahanna's structure/dwelling. I don't think he would card us, but he may charge for admission.

Jen, Pahanna's ears should be ringing about now. "If you build it, they will come."

hey yall, we can do it,the price is right on the material list, it can be labor intensive and i have finally come up with a good mixer which is a earth auger on a 2 cycle motor which is put in a 5 gal. bucket, it takes a 5 person crew to build it quick, the adobe/cob is fair as a insulator and fair as a heat storage material

As soon as I can move back to the country I will let you know something,Pahanna.Looking at land near my son and his wife.It is about 20 acres.Owner financed.I am scared to get in debt again. But I am tired of the city. All I have ever known is the country.I just want to live like long time ago. That house of Pahanna's would be perfect. It's just me and my husband. Our kids are grown.I've got 2 children,1Daughter-in-law and 1 son-in-law 7 natural grandchildren,2 step sons,1 step daughter-in-law,3 step grandsons and 1 on the way,3 dog children, and 4 granddogs.Hey I can start my own tribe. Any hints on what to call us?Jennifer

From my understanding of this new law does indeed expand the definition of terrorism, but it is more directly linked to cooperation with terrorists or fundamentalists organizations such as al Qaeda and the Taliban. The act is mostly repeat things from previous AUMF (Authorization of Military Force) acts that were used in the past; however, the greatest difference between this and previous acts is the specific provision that allows for military officials to detain all persons. However, this last does not specifically apply to American citizens and the government must still provide a speedy and fair trial to an American citizen. It also clarifies that any prisoner regardless of the crime must be released near the "end" of hostilities.

The key issue in all of this is its "indefinite detention clause". Many people view that as "life" imprisonment since it is most likely that this imaginary war on terror will never end. Several people are calling for congress to allow specific legal provisions to foreigners who do not have legal rights with in the system and grant them some sort of legal process. Others are arguing that it is key to national security. They argue that we must be allowed the ability to lock these individuals up and prevent them from returning to terrorists cells. This is a very controversial law indeed.

Hey,Pahanna I haven't been on the blog for a week.Went to visit family.Yeah, the Craig Gang would be an appropriate name for us since Craig is my husband. He did carpentry and remodeling until he fell 30ft.On my father's side we had a horse thief. The family member had to go to court for stealing his own horse back.He was a Muscogee Creek.I'm not sure but I think he was a cousin.Jennifer
