Well, Mike, the french, the exception being the missionaries, were teh least evil of all the invaders. All the french really wanted was trade. The english and the spanish were the worst of all, they wanted to own land and enslave the nations. By the time of the french, the nations in teh southwest had already met the spanish, and knew their evil intent.
The downfall of all the nations was allowing themslves to be pawns in the european game of global chess. They thought they were playing the europeans as pawns int eh intra tribal warfare. The Abasaroke knew what was going to happen, but they still sided with the amerikans, as did the Ree and Pawnee, against the Lakotah, Cheyenne and Arapaho.

I find it disturbing that so called scientist look not for facts but for facts that fit their theory and exclude any evidence that does not support the conclusion they want to reach. So much has been lost both in oral history and in the written history that even with artifacts in hand ot is all speculation as large portions of our indiginous history has been lost for all time.
It is the same with egyptologist. They can not fathom the idea that the egyptians were preceeded by another unknown civilization. Dr. Shock, a geologist with Maryland University, dates the sphynx as 8,000-10,000 years old. This is based on the erosian, which he believes was mad e by water. The last time that area of africa was wet was 8-10,000 years ago.
