Tatanka Iyotake: Why is it that we couldn't be bothered to actually say his name correctly but to a translated version?

Geronimo's name was Golthlay. Tribe after tribe person after person leader after leader we just couldn't be bothered. Is there a Lakota word for arrogant? How about stupid?
