i am a voice lost in the wind of people without history
a girl living in a culture of lies, deceit and cruelty
with tears of rain that change nothing
inspired by reincarnated spirit of an imagined past
i live in my imagination ignoring what’s around me
the only way i see in the constant tears of rain
clutching material poverty as the only means i know
of alleviating the responsibility no one takes away
for this world I have no place in
can barely survive in
watch my descendants suffer in
grateful for the never-ending hope given me
and the great love of a spirit surrounding
enveloping sometimes part of me
and the gift of forgetting
listening to the trees in the wind
