Where I live, in the valley, snow is very unusual but it does happen. We can miss the rains and still survive if there is an ample snow pack in the Sierra Nevada range. Water resources sent their team up to get the water content samples of the snow (they do this several times a year) and the snow contained 20% of normal. What was astounding was, for all practical purpose, there was no snow. Instead of them walking over several feet of snow they were walking on grass and rocks looking for something to sample. They made their determinations on a place where they found two inches. Maybe these ducks know some things we don't. Kind of reminds me of "I see a bad moon rising."
