REPUBLIC OF LAKOTAH

WEEKLY REPORT

After traveling and meeting with people at the Rosebud Reservation, the Standing Rock Reservation on two occasions, Yankton Sioux Reservation, and Lame Deer, Montana where we met with the Northern Cheyenne and Crow communities, I am looking forward to recovering our land in the Black Hills and to getting our people thoroughly independent of the US government.  I am proud to be a member of the provisional government of the Republic of Lakotah and look forward to working with the other members and all of our communities on our sovereignty. I think the meetings have been successful in that we've met with people who are ready to pursue their independence.  Although the press hasn't come out to document these meetings in the manner in which one would think they would, we are delighted and heartened by the extent to which the international press has covered our announcement of independence. 

Russell and I recently attended the second meeting at the Standing Rock Reservation where we discussed energy projects with provisional government member, Phyllis Young, and tribal chairman, Ron His Horses Thunder. In the Spring, 2008, we plan to begin putting up the windmills on the Standing Rock Reservation and the Pine Ridge Reservation.  We believe that these windmills will be one of the keys to the economic independence of our nation. 

I am working on an article about the meetings that our provisional government has conducted on the four reservations so far.  I'll post it on the Republic of Lakotah web site.
